QLook Parquet

Last updated: October 31, 2026
QLook Parquet does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.
The app is a macOS Quick Look extension for previewing Apache Parquet files. A file you preview is read on your Mac only to show its schema, rows and metadata, and to copy content you select. The file’s contents are no longer retained when the preview closes.
No data collection
- No personal information is collected
- No analytics are used
- No advertising identifiers are used
- No tracking is performed
- No account is required
- No crash reporting service is used
No network access
The app and its preview extension run in the macOS App Sandbox and do not request any network entitlement, so the operating system blocks every outbound and inbound connection. No third-party service receives data from the app, because the app never contacts one.
Your files
Parquet files are opened read-only. Previewing a file cannot change it, and no extra files are created alongside your files — no sidecar files, caches or hidden folders. The app itself opens no files; its “Show Sample in Finder” button only selects the sample file bundled inside the app.
What is stored on your Mac
The app stores your display preferences (how missing values and timestamps are shown, and whether row numbers are shown) in its own container so the preview can read them. Standard window positions are also saved. None of it records which files you previewed or what is in them.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the change will ship with a new version of the app and this page will be updated.
